Wild and Wonderful West Virginia Inn for Sale
Posted by: Susan Moore
I have been an innkeeper for 18 years, in a rustic little inn in a funky little ski town in West Virginia. What a fantastic growth experience it's been, meeting new friends and exploring these beautiful mountains. But it's time for a new adventure for me. And maybe for YOU (or someone you know) too!
The Bright Morning Inn is an eight-room bed and breakfast located on the main street of historic Davis, WV. Built in 1900 as a boardinghouse for lumberjacks, the inn was deeply renovated in 1988 and reopened as an inn, with a full commercial restaurant downstairs, and guest rooms upstairs. It has operated continuously for thirty years and has acquired a loyal following of lodging and restaurant patrons.
All rooms at the inn have private baths. They are simple, clean and uncluttered, furnished in antiques, country quilts and rugs, and handmade artwork. In 2016 state-of-the-art air-conditioning was installed.
Our 48-seat restaurant serves breakfast to the public five days a week. We serve only breakfast and specialize in it. Located on the busy main street with lots of foot traffic, there is significant business opportunity for a restaurant-minded new owner, whether through additional hours or through catering and event management.
The inn is located just west of several Mid-Atlantic cities and millions of potential visitors. Most of our guests are from these cities. They are looking for relief from crowds, congestion, traffic and commercialism. We are three hours west of Washington, DC, three hours south of Pittsburgh, four hours from Baltimore, three hours from Charlottesville and Charleston, WV, four hours from Richmond and within two hours of the Northern Virginia suburbs, Winchester, VA, and Morgantown, WV.
The inn attracts outdoor enthusiasts mostly, the finest clientele anywhere. They are respectful, friendly, and down to earth, and appreciative of the basic comforts: hot shower, good mattress and tasty breakfast. In all these years I could count on one hand the guests who were problems, which is truly remarkable. I love my guests, and have become friends with many of them. And I have assured them that any new owner will be friendly and likeable. It just won't work any other way.
If you or someone you know is interested in making a change in their life, who loves hospitality and would love to be surrounded by over 800,000 acres of beautiful national forest, two state parks and one national wildlife refuge, show them my website. Then have them call me at 304-259-5119.
I know the right person is out there and hope to be hearing from them soon.
